5/18/2023 0 Comments 80s artmatic powderI already have a helper automatically weighing my charges to within +/- 0.05 gr – it’s called a Chargemaster. But if it were me, I would have my helper prep brass, not measure charges. If you can get a family member to help, then great. Throwing charges with a volume powder measure, followed by manually trickling grains is a slow process. OTW close to perfection!Ĭlick to expand. This process sounds pretty old school to me. She even knows how to trickle powder after throwing a light load. Pretty cheap and only needs a little bit of maintenance. No problem, I just set the "Devine Ms G" (trust she is very Devine) on a stool and have her pull the lever while I seat bullets. The China built ones will not do this! Now there are Culver inserts out there for the Lyman (Homer preferred the Lyman over most others), but expect to pay out the nose! Get the Sinclair bottle adapter and baffle along with several drop tubes (both measures have to have drop tubes). What you can do if your allowance is running short! Buy a Lyman built #55 (not the Chinese one). The Harrell will go right back to any setting as if you never stopped, and this is a huge advantage. No problem if your smart enough to create a log book. The next issue with the Harrell is that it works best with fine grained powders (Ball), and trust me it will dump a hundred loads within a 1.5 grain window (+/-.075 grain). Never been in love with the idea od throwing a double charge, but guess it's OK if needed. If memory is right, my Harrell is maxed out at 60 grains (a gazillion clicks). Roughly 85%! The down side of this is volume, or capacity. ![]() The Harrell has the largest window I've ever seen. Why didn't Linnwood go for the bigger bottle that would allow one to simply thread on a standard powder container? All powder dispensers have a window they work out of that are their most accurate. The Harrell Culver measure is about as good as it gets with reservations that bugs me.

5/18/2023 0 Comments Battery buddy not chargingIf I had let it run for a little while the alternator would’ve recharged the battery. I then regretted immediately cutting off the ignition. Out came my multi-meter and I recorded a 12.3V reading. It was then obvious it was a battery issue. I could hear the familiar and dreaded sound of clicking. I then turned off the ignition and then the car wouldn’t start again. My first presumption was it’s an electrical fault causing it. I’d lost all my dashboard lights, including RPM gauge stopped working. I managed to start the car after turning off the hazard lights. I presumed an alarm had been set off and proceeded to investigate. In early March, my Vauxhall Zafira’s hazard lights suddenly came on whilst being parked on my drive since the beginning of January (due to lockdown). A 3-stage automatic battery charger, which also features a pulse battery repair function.
